We are very pleased to be able to throw our doors open after eight weeks of refurbishments. The Richard Onslow reopened on 1st July with seven new boutique guest rooms and a new courtyard for your enjoyment. Thank you for your patience whilst we made these essential adjustments to our pub. We are so proud to show everyone the finished result, so do pop in and say hello!
As ever, my aim is to make the Pub the most welcoming, convivial place to be, serving high quality seasonal British food, beer, spirits and wine while offering great value and service - a real 'capital tavern' of the old school. My background is in quality restaurants, including John Torode's and several of Richard Branson's on two of his idyllic hideaways, before deciding that pubs are the places where British hospitality is at its best. I ran the Punch Tavern in Fleet Street for two years and then spent eighteen months scouring the South of England for a pub of my own to buy in partnership with independent pub group, Peach.
I am delighted to be settled in this beautiful corner of Surrey with my wife and two small boys. I can't believe it'll soon be two years since we opened the doors at the Richard Onslow - Cranleigh certainly feels like home!
